Intra Pacific Trading Co. Ltd (INTRACO) carried out Suzuki Clean-up the world campaign on Saturday, 23rd September 2017 at the Kawenu beach front, Malapoa Area, Port Vila. The event was carried out in collaboration with Pango Green Force rubbish collection services, Kawenu School and Port Vila Municipality – for allowing free access pass to the central dumbsite at Etas.
An information session on management of waste and preservation of natural environment was carried out before and after the event. Before collection started there was short but effective exercise session for all participants. Light refreshments was provided for all participants after collections.
With over 70 participants, nearly 250kgs of waste was collected from the Kawenu Beach front.
It was quite alarming and sad to see Kawenu Beach front being used to dump house hold garbage, but we beleive with the work done today it will help motivate the future generations to keep our beaches clean.
Suzuki Clean-up the World campaign is an initiative by Suzuki Corporation, Japan. It is an annual event and is carried out in more than 20 countries around the world every year. This is the fourth consecutive year that INTRACO has hosted the “Suzuki Clean Up the World” campaign in Port Vila, Vanuatu.Suzuki clean-up the world campaign is carried out to promote Suzuki’s vision of a great day on the water in a clean healthy environment.
